Family Concerts and Education
“Director John Andrews conducted with flair, compelling the choir to give of its best and he introduced each item in an illuminating and erudite way.”

John is passionate about bringing music to the next generation of concertgoers. He is the principal guest conductor of THAMES Youth Orchestra, whom he recently conducted at the Spitalfields Festival. He frequently gives narrated Family Concerts introducing different types of pieces to audiences of all ages and backgrounds, and recently brought together students from Trinity College and pupils at St James’, Newham in two newly-devised pieces for the Water City Festival. He made his debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in an outdoor performance of Saint Saens’ The Carnival of the Animals in Leicester Square narrated by the CBBC presenter Justin Fletcher. Here he not only conducted the orchestra, but also engaged the children in some characteristic animal actions.
John also offers support and coaching to teachers and nursery staff who lead singing with young children. For more information click HERE.
